Our School Day

Over a school year, pupils are required to attend school for 190 days. Children do not come into school on Staff Development Days or Bank Holidays.

Barham CE Primary School is open from 7.45am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday.

From September 2026 compulsory times for children are 8.45am – 3.15pm which equates to 6 hours 30 minutes a day, or 32.5 hours per week.

There is at least one member of staff on the school gates to welcome the children into school at 08:35am. The children are then greeted by a member of staff as they enter their classroom to begin the day with early morning work.

07.45 - 08.35  Kingfisher Breakfast Club

08.35  Gate opens and children can arrive and go to their classroom.

08.45  Compulsory school day begins. Gate closes. If children arrive after this, they are 'late' and need to enter via the main school entrance.

10.20-10.40  Collective Worship

10.40-11.00  Morning Break

12.00-13.00  Lunch

15.15  End of compulsory school day. If children are not collected by 15.25, they are bought to the school office.

15.15-16.30  Kingfisher After School Club (early session)

16.30-18.00  Kingfisher After School Club (late session)
